lab work

Today, apparently,we did not have any lesson. However,we did request for laboratory work and it was granted through Dr Bessie Fong this morning. At 0900h sharp,we came to the usual lab and was supervised by Miss Millie, the laboratory technician here. The work that we need to do was so simple,it was to prepare at first 20 gels for the Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate Polyacrylamide Gel(SDS-PAGE).She asked us to do 10 gels at first and apparently, followed her instructions with reference to the protocols that was actually done on one of the practicals involving this.We did managed to finish it around 2 hours and after that, she instructed us to proceed with the glasses involving the gel,but not making the gel itself, with about another 10 more sets.In all,we managed to finish it around two and a half hour. Subsequently,we went out for lunch.Interestingly all of the museums here were on free admission today,so we went to the Hong Kong Space Museum. It was so fascinating as we were informed and exchanged knowledge about the solar system in the planet and also know more about the galaxy, including the Milky Way and also the Big Bang theory. Furthermore,we went to the Hong Kong Museum of Art whereby it displays all the information about the Chinese Calligraphy and Traditional Writing and also history of the horses that were suitable for the Equestrian race and also about the horse racing as part of the nation's tradition. Not only that,we also went to the pottery section whereby there was a display of how the pottery was made and eventually, recycle it. Then,we went to the Hong Kong Cultural Centre whereby it displays all the arts performance and opera shows, mostly Cantonese for the entire month.Instead,we went outside the cultural centre to see an evening in Hong Kong before sunset.
